Details about this exciting opportunity:
Part-Time Teacher for our Amazing Afternoons, Afterschool Program located in the Elmsford, NY school district.
This role will serve as both a tutor and a mentor to all program students, creating and delivering various program activities along with Program Specialists.
This position is 20 hours/week. Monday through Friday, 2:00pm-6:00pm.
Compensation: $25.00 – $30.00/hour.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Develop curriculum to meet the student’s academic needs. Demonstrate reliability and punctuality by arriving on-time for scheduled shift.
Lead a group of approximately 20-30 students in an instructional setting, maintaining high standards for behavior and safety.
Assist Program Director, Education Coordinator and Program Specialist, organize, create and supervise other activities for students, including art projects, dance and field-trips and special events.
Accurately completes and submits timesheets, incident reports, behavior action forms, rosters, receipts, lesson plans and other program related materials.
Identify participant’s needs and communicate to Elmsford School district staff, Education Coordinator, and Program Director.
Provide homework help and tutoring to students.
If you have the following:
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma is required, a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Experience working within an educational setting preferred.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
And Attributes:
Proven ability to work with youth, adults and families
Computer skills and experience with data collection and management required.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
