Position Summary:
A Tax Manager is a professional who has the technical ability to prepareand review tax returns, standard accounting work papers and statements,and other financial reports while guiding and mentoring other staff.This role demonstrates the ability to work well with others especiallyin the capacity to earn the confidence and respect of clients, partners,staff, and administrative support personnel. He/she is familiar with taxand audit standard concepts, practices and procedures, and relies onextensive experience and judgment to accomplish goals. A wide degree ofcreativity and latitude is expected.

A current and valid CPA license is required. Must be a member in goodstanding with the American Institute of CPAs and respective statesocieties. 5-7 years experience in public accounting or relevantposition, demonstrating a progression in complexity, scope, and numberof projects. Special consideration will be made to waive the requirementof the CPA license in lieu of comparable experience and demonstratedexpertise.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining tax records and preparing tax returns,related schedules and related reportsResponsible for supervising and reviewing the work of othersMaintains in depth knowledge of accounting and tax matters, andspecialized industries or functional/technical areasEnsures top quality client service through a cadence of in-personand virtual communicationsConsistently applies effective project management skills in order toplan and coordinate multiple engagementsParticipates in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention andteam-building activitiesComplies with all firm policies and proceduresRecognizes complex technical issues, reaches appropriate conclusionsand applies authority to support conclusionsMaintains accurate time and expense records to ensure proper billingof clientsAnticipates problem areas and questions that will arise during thecourse of a projectUses established network of business relationships to generate newsales opportunities for continued development of client baseDemonstrates knowledge of all technical aspects of the job,including related knowledge of necessary systems and proceduresDemonstrates advanced technical knowledge effectively throughwritten and verbal communication; seeks to continuously developcommunication skillsIncreasingly builds knowledge base on the firms industry lines andservice offeringsPerforms other duties as assignedDesired Skills, Abilities and Characteristics:
