Position Summary :
Tax Analyst India shall support Garrett finance and tax for all Indian tax matters related to Garrett Indian entities and other Garrett entities in a timely and professional manner. He/she will lead financial and tax reporting for Indian entities. He/She will be involved in global tax projects as needed.
Senior Tax Analyst India would be the key contact with internal business clients, other practice areas within the Tax Department and outside tax advisors.
Key Job Areas of Responsibilities
2.1. Financial Reporting and Tax Compliance
'- Properly evaluate tax reporting positions and financial statement treatment. Participate in the Garrett's accounting for income taxes (FAS 109) process, particularly deferred tax computations, FIN48 assessment and Sarbanes-Oxley process
- Assist accurate reporting on Indian tax returns for Garrett local and foreign entities, including Direct (Corporate Tax and Transfer Pricing) and Indirect tax (GST, Excise, VAT and Service)
- Assist Corporate Tax in obtaining necessary information and documentation for use with tax returns, tax planning, and cash tax forecasts, any corporate compliance, reporting and work with businesses to improve tax data collection processes 2.2. Tax Audits and Controversies
'- Support and partner with Garrett finance and business team to successfully defend filing positions and to negotiate favorable resolutions of proposed deficiencies. Coordinate use of and manage activities of outside advisers engaged to assist in tax controversy matters
- Close monitor of all historcial tax litigations and the relevant tax reserve status
- Explore MAP, APA and other opportunities to seek for certainty 2.3. Business/Transactional Support and Planning Activities
'- Partner with business to proactively identify and research tax planning opportunities. Implement structural and non-structural tax planning strategies, which maximize savings on a defensible basis.
- Manage and participate in reviews of ongoing business activities and proposed transactions to properly advise management of tax consequences and opportunities, with emphasis on tax efficiency and compliance with legal requirements 3. Education / Qualifications
Minimum requirements required for employee to do the job Accounting/Taxation Bachelor's Degree or law degree 4. Experience
Minimum requirements (years & domain) required for employee to do the job 4 to 5 years post CA qualification experience
Mixture of professional firm like Big 4 and industry experience desired
