The candidate will be a System Administrator for an enterprise WAN solution: DarkStar! The candidate will be trusted to be the Splunk architect, responsible for leading, designing, supporting, and maintaining a distributed environment within DarkStar at one of our node locations and will be the primary interface for DarkStar. The selected candidate will closely work with the larger DarkStar system administration and network teams. Candidate must be comfortable working in environment supporting a large number of different platforms which range from enterprise servers to small/midsize servers and supercomputers. Candidate will be responsible for system installations, upgrades, configurations, software installation, patching and maintenance. Knowledge of various protocols such as DNS, SMTP, NFS, FTP, Telnet, ssh, and etc protocols and system network tuning and configuration.
Basic Qualifications:
• Secret security clearance
• Knowledge and experience of cloud computing design and security principles
• Knowledge of application containerization, APIs, web services
• Experience with Linux (RHEL, CentOS) and MS Windows Server
• Experience with Open Shift
• Experience with System Configuration and Hardening
• Experience with script writing and automation tools
• Experience customizing and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux Common Operating Environment (COE) to meet various customer requirements (DISA STIGs, DCID 6/3, NNSA regulations, etc.)
• Wide range of knowledge across IT disciplines including software, hardware, network engineering
• Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly across organization boundaries
• Self-starter with the ability to spot potential for process improvement
• Capable of building effective relationships with teams and subject matter experts
Desired Skills:
• Understanding of High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions
• Experience with Trusted Multi-Level Security (MLS) Operating Systems
• Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Certificate Authorities (CAs) and Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs)
• Knowledge of configuration management systems (e.g. Puppet, Chef, or Ansible)
• Specific experience using RHEL7/8+ with SELinux enabled
• Experience with System Engineering/Architecture/Administration in a large and distributed environment
• Network Configuration, particularly on Linux Hosts and Cisco & Juniper routers/firewalls
• Experience in refactoring, rebuild, or redesign required during cloud migration activities
• Recognized cloud certification (AWS CSA/Developer/DevOps Engineer, CompTIA Cloud+, CCSK or others)
• Experience with Domain Capable Windows/Linux/Virtualization
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile teams leveraging Scrum, Kanban or other methodologies and/or understanding of agile development concepts

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $100,400 - $192,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
