Key Responsibilities
Systems engineering design and analysis of semiconductor process equipment comprised of a wide range of technologies: robotic wafer handling, electrostatic chucks, vacuum systems, control systems, cryogenic systems, high temperature systems, thin film deposition, and test/analysis equipment.
Independently, develops and implements concepts for a range of significantly complex product issues to enable world class performance.
Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects and spearhead research and development of new technologies, as appropriate.
Interface with internal and external customers regarding significantly complex engineering issues to address customer’s High Value Problems (HVP) that bring differentiation and value to Applied’s products.
Functional Knowledge
Experience in semiconductor capital equipment design and development ideally in ion implantation or other similar materials modifications processes.
Design intricate parts and assemblies of advanced engineering materials (metals, polymers, and ceramics) for a wide range of operating conditions including in vacuum and over a wide temperature range.
Design of atmospheric and vacuum test equipment using advanced sensors and controls for R&D including characterizing new product developments
Able to interpret data from analytical instruments and metrology such as SEM, TEM, EDX, SIMS, TXRF, Particle counter, digital microscope, etc. as part of investigating material behaviors
Guiding and interpreting analysis of heat transfer, stress, and resonance

U.S. Salary Range:
$120,000.00 - $165,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
