Amazon Web Services (AWS) internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 consecutive weeks during summer. By applying to this position, your application will be considered for all locations we hire for in the United States.
Do you love automating and streamlining manual processes? Systems Development Engineer interns work with technical leaders to refine technical direction, and then follow through with detailed review, designs, and truly innovative code. Systems Development Engineers are “Builders”, developers of unique technology solutions to address business and customer problems. You will build internal and external services within the AWS software systems and be responsible for understanding the operational impact of changes.

Key job responsibilities
• Collaborating with experienced Amazonians to design and build innovative products and services.
• Troubleshooting, researching and resolving problems.
• Building tools and automation to support the team’s mission.

Basic Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with a graduation conferral date between December 2024 and September 2025
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
Familiarity with Linux, using the command line and basic administration.
Preferred Qualifications
• Documentation and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Familiarity with IP networking and troubleshooting
• Shell scripting experience with Bash or other common Linux shell

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $38.13/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $97.45/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
