SUMMARY: The Systems Administrator III installs, supports, and maintains physical and virtual servers, using a variety of technologies, such as Windows Server, VMWare, vSphere, MS SQL, Microsoft 365, and others. Provides Tier 3 technical support to IT staff and non-technical staff for OS and server applications. Provides installation, configuration, and consulting services to support system implementations and upgrades including both hardware and software. Promotes and practices adherence to Information Security policies and best practices.
The hourly pay for this position is $34.57 - $51.85 depending on experience, skills, education and internal equity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts system analysis to ensure that systems are current with changing technologies. Conducts analysis, configuration management, and develops improvements for system performance. Performs installation, customization, and maintenance of systems and software. Provides technical assistance and consulting to the users. Installs operating systems and deploys new servers. Maintains each system and the respective services, monitoring, and documentation. Performs system administration functions. Conducts performance monitoring and capacity planning. Handles backup and recovery as well as disaster recovery procedures. Analyzes data and application requirements to facilitate stable application delivery. Supports antivirus, anti-spam, and security information management systems. Implements applications in physical server, virtual server, and cloud environments. Hardens Server OS to meet security requirements. Performs complex OS and application troubleshooting. Supports end-users as required to provide a positive customer experience. Ability to successfully plan, document, and perform maintenance on production network and adhere to change management policies and procedures. Backfills and supports other team members when needed; during business hours or after scheduled work hours. Develops documentation for systems administration procedures. The ideal candidate will have:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in a Windows 2012/2016/2022 server environment Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred. Advanced skills with Windows Desktop and Server OS, VMWare, MS Server Applications, and MS Desktop Applications. Experience with web-based and hosted (cloud) applications. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (O365) is a plus. Linux Server Support Administration with hardware experience is a plus. Kubernetes and/or OpenShift container experience preferred. Relevant professional and technical certifications (Microsoft, VMWare, Network+, Dell, etc.) Must also demonstrate conduct consistent with our Corporate Values:
