Description of Work Unit
Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Division of Information Technology, the central IT organization for Colorado State University Fort Collins, supports the land-grant heritage of the institution as well as the university’s missions of teaching and learning, research, and service. The Division of IT is responsible for delivering enterprise and campus focused IT services for the Ft. Collins campus as well as throughout the CSU System. Areas of responsibility include Research IT, Application Development and User Support Services, Academic Technology, Cybersecurity & Privacy, Networking and Telecommunications, Infrastructure and Databases, Business Intelligence and Data Integrations, Administrative Applications, and Student Applications.

Reporting to the Vice President of Information Technology/ CIO , our dedicated 120-person team delivers dynamic and innovative solutions to meet the diverse needs of our students, faculty, and staff. Position Summary
This position will work collaboratively within the Division of IT and with IT professionals across campus in the administration, integration, development, and support of university IT systems. Current key components of work include support of email and collaboration systems. Additional key components of work include administering and deploying Microsoft 365 services, Active Directory, and related cloud applications. In support of the university’s core missions of teaching, learning and research, the person in this position will play a key role in meeting operational needs and priorities of the campus.
Required Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field OR Bachelor’s degree in any field plus minimum of 2 years professional experience in support of information technology. Candidates with a High School Diploma (or GED ) and equivalent related professional experience (6 years) will be considered for employment with this position (without the required bachelor’s degree or other post-secondary education).
Demonstrated proficiency in each of the following or similar technologies:
Administration of Microsoft Active Directory, Managing cloud services such as Microsoft 365 (Teams, Exchange Online, Azure, etc.) or Google Apps, At least one scripting or programming language such as PowerShell, Python, C# or similar
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the start date; the department will not sponsor a visa for this position.
Preferred Job Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in any of the following:
Microsoft Server administration (e.g., database or web servers)
Microsoft Exchange/Exchange Online administration, Microsoft Teams and Teams Voice, Web application development, Use of administrative tools to monitor and schedule simple system tasks.
Proven critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues through data collection, research, and troubleshooting
Strong customer service ethic and ability to communicate technical knowledge to a diverse customer base
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, manage, and complete multiple tasks on a daily basis in a high-volume work environment.

Provide technical expertise for the deployment, administration, and support of collaboration technologies.
Support and configuration of Microsoft 365 cloud services including Microsoft Teams/Teams Voice, SharePoint, and PowerBI
Train and educate campus IT partners and CSU constituents in the application of Teams and Microsoft cloud services.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement configurations, technologies, or other changes to improve processes or meet organizational and user needs
Provide technical consultation to solve complex business problems and work with team members to determine satisfactory approach for stakeholders
Monitor systems to ensure stability, security, and performance
Document technical processes and procedures.
Provide troubleshooting for escalated issues related to system failures and problems
