  As an integral part of our Airborne Multifunction Systems (AMS) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team you will apply strong systems engineering knowledge and understanding in the areas of target tracking, state estimation, and sensor fusion, working with various systems, hardware, and software teams. We encourage our engineers to be innovative with solving problems and identifying improvements.

  This position may be filled as a Systems Tracker - Principal Systems Engineer or a Systems Tracker - Senior Principal Systems Engineer and requires up to 100% on-site work in the Linthicum/Baltimore, Maryland campus and the ability to pass an enhanced security review.

   Roles & Responsibilities :Development and fielding of target tracking and sensor fusion systems for advanced multi-function RF subsystems.Analyzing, shaping, and relating data from a wide variety of modes, such as: long-range search and track Radar waveforms and electronic surveillance measure returns.Maintain repositories with simulation tools, and adhere to the Agile frameworkWork well on team and engage with software counterparts in developing operational flight codeContribute to developing Model Description Documents and Interface Description Documents in support of new track modes and software. Basic Qualifications for Systems Tracker - Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience, a masters degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or related technical major; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.US Citizenship is required.Active DoD Secret Security clearance required and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) access prior to start.Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C++ programming/analysis languagesStrong linear algebra and numerical analysis skillsKnowledge of Fundamental state estimation.Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes and effective communication skills. Basic Qualifications for Systems Tracker - Senior Principal Systems Engineer : Bachelor's Degree with 9 years of experience, a masters degree with 7 years of experience or a PhD with 4 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or related technical major; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.US Citizenship is required.Active DoD Secret Security clearance required and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) access prior to start.Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C++ programming/analysis languagesStrong linear algebra and numerical analysis skillsKnowledge of Fundamental state estimation.Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes and effective communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or related technical major.Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance or higher, SAP access, and/or SCI eligibilityExperience with various Kalman filters (i.e. EKF, UKF, Schmidt-Kalman Filter, etc...)Experience with RF signals processing and/or RF applications for target trackingTeam leadership experience with development and/or production program executionExperience integrating and testing of modes/algorithms on RADAR, SIGINT, EOIR, or EW systems. This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to starting.

  This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

  *This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (SAP) prior to starting.

  Salary Range: $102,400 - $153,600

  Salary Range 2: $127,000 - $190,600

  The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
