The Garrett Engineering organization is responsible for developing a differentiated product portfolio of boosting solutions that enables our customers to set new benchmarks in vehicle performance - both for our traditional core turbocharger business as well as new growth areas such as electrification and software.
The HVAC system engineer will be responsible to develop and improve the overall vehicle level thermal management on current and future generations of EV platforms. Prior experience on performance evaluation and optimization of EV HVAC system components for Light vehicle / Commercial Vehicle and other applications. The responsibilities will be a combination of engineering problem solving, design ownership and cross-functional collaboration with talented and passionate colleagues who share your enthusiasm for technical excellence and innovation.
The following requirements for this position
Hands on work experience in the areas of overall vehicle level thermal management of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) and/or Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). Vehicle HVAC System dynamics / Operational tradeoff for various sub-systems for optimal Heat Load Balance understanding.
Hands on experience includes building HVAC system level models for thermal management using commercial tools / building localized sub-model to understand the design trade off / conduct Design of experiments on various concepts ( component level as well as cooling architecture iterations ) / hands on experience on simulation using like KULI software. The External functional analysis for the cooling system / sub-system level / developing validation plans / conducting experiments to evaluate the concepts understanding. Understand on the industry challenges on thermal management for Fuel cell electrical vehicle and Battery Electric Vehicle. Understanding of functionality of system components in FCEV / BEV HVAC system conditions and experience in optimization for heat exchanger / heat sinks / condenser / compressors. Experience in Matlab / Simulink SIMSACLE / GT Power and sub-modelling tools would be good to have.
