MSP CX is searching for a System Development Engineer to be a part of our global team to deliver the next generation of world-class fulfillment systems through the use of advanced technology. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior engineering experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, including development, design, implementation, enhancement, and support.
System Development Engineers will be part of a full product life cycle and responsible for successful delivery of units for development and operations. You will serve as a liaison between Fulfillment Center Operations (our customer), product design and development engineers.
This role will require the ability to build relationships across a cross functional team capturing and synthesizing the voice of the customer. Their primary goal is to own the field activities integrating, deploying, and troubleshooting solutions for new mechatronics systems and packaging technology; act as a liaison for internal and external resources and be on call as needed to support downtime events. This position will also provide proper training and support to facility controls technicians on system troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to focus on the system performance improvement and optimization. In parallel with the Deployment Teams you will support performance ramp of the technology deployment at scale.
You are able to take the lead on the implementation and delivery of complex system designs and MPS technology in ambiguous and complex problem spaces. You integrate systems for safety, security, stability, and efficiency. You participate in the full system development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters, including test plan execution and solution quality needs.
Flexible locations across the EU (Italy, Germany, Spain) and the UK.
Key job responsibilities
· Establish and maintain a safe work environment following all local and Amazon specific standards and requirements.
· Support the installation of complex cross-functional projects with considerable impact. Projects may span organizations or geographies in support of a business objective.
· Work independently with internal and external engineering teams to successfully deliver cross-functional projects that are of a high-quality (e.g., on-time, on-budget, maintainable, low-defects, etc.). Setting project priorities, establish milestones, and drive schedules to meet a deadline.
· Define systems in your project space, their limitations, performance factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind design intent and decisions.
· Responsible to deep dive technical solutions that encompass advanced technology applications, conveyor hardware selection, material handling integration, and vendor commissioning content and expectations.
· Participate in design reviews and support execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout.
· Communicate project status, effectively answer project questions in detail, and regularly produce clear and concise summaries for the projects you own to your leadership/management team.
· Build strong working relationships with Fulfillment Center/Sort Center leadership and their operations teams across multiple sites as well as their Facilities, Finance, Safety, Process Engineers, and other business stakeholders.
· Develop cross-functional knowledge of Operations and Engineering team systems, processes, procedures, and tools.
· Travel up to 80% throughout the EU and the UK, which can vary and consist of up to two weeks.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor degree in CS or related area
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
3+ years of experience (non-internship) in professional software/system development
1+ years of experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
+3 years of experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
+3 years of experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python
+3 years of experience in IPC/PLC code deployment and installation of controls solutions, preferred platforms are Rockwell and Siemens.
Preferred Qualifications
Master degree in CS or related area
Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
