We are seeking a System Administrator Application Specialist , to join our team in Brisbane as part of the Wedgetail Program. The E-7A Wedgetail provides Australia with one of the most advanced airspace battle management capabilities in the world. The Wedgetail’s ability to coordinate a joint air, sea, and land battle in real-time significantly increases the effectiveness of the Australian Defence Force.
A critical role, you will be part of the Boeing Infrastructure team supporting regional activities in Australia & South Pacific for Boeing including distribution, training and professional services, Defence and training and repair businesses, and autonomous systems. This includes general corporate support for Infrastructure activities, including implementation, maintenance, support and configuration of Network and Infrastructure equipment.
Responsibilities
Install and configure software applications, ensuring they are optimized for performance and meet security standards while collaborating with vendors and other IT teams as needed during the setup process.
Regularly update and patch applications to ensure they are up-to-date and protected against vulnerabilities and monitoring their performance.
Act as a primary point of contact for application-related inquiries, offering timely resolution and exceptional customer service
Create and update documentation related to application installation, configuration, troubleshooting procedures, and user guides.
Work closely with the IT team to ensure seamless integration of applications with existing infrastructure and systems.
Identify opportunities to streamline application-related processes, enhance user experience, and optimize system performance and then propose and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Performs delivery systems installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture, and validate end-to-end system functionality through unit and integration testing.
Experience/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is desirable (or equivalent experience). Min 5 years
Proven experience as a System Administrator or Application Specialist, preferably in a corporate environment.
Windows/Linux/Hyper-V/VMWare/Citrix experience preferred
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is desirable.
Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve application issue with systematic and logical problem-solving skills.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements with the ability to obtain an NV2 Security Clearance
