A DAY IN THE LIFE of a Sustainability Intern
AAA - The Auto Club is seeking a passionate Sustainability Intern to join a small team dedicated to prioritizing a sustainable future here at ACG. This exciting position will offer the opportunity for growth in practical research, reporting, and presentation skills, as well as relevant and engaging fieldwork.
Leverage insights from various sources including scholarly databases, journals, vehicle data, and external research to complete a project that answers: How Can We Make Our Roadside Fleet More Sustainable?
Assist mentor in calculating Scope 3 travel emission inventory
Research Current Sustainability Topics/News Items
Assist other Sustainability team members by taking comprehensive notes during various meetings
In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
Access and analyze historical utility (electricity, natural gas, etc.) and vehicle fuel usage data, greenhouse gas emission reports, and vehicle efficiency data that have been conducted in the ACG footprint
Gain experience in data extraction and validation capabilities and auditing
Gain relevant experience and understanding of sustainability within business
Learn how to collect pertinent data and verify its accuracy
Learn how to develop executive presentations and aid in subsequent creation
WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO
Required Qualifications:
Must have junior or senior status and be fully enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program at an accredited college/university, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Must be studying a field related to Environmental Science or Sustainability
Have strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
Experience in utilizing research sources and database
Proficiency in Excel
Detail-oriented
Legally authorized to work in the U.S
Preferred Qualifications
Some understanding of data management
Compensation and Time Commitment
The Auto Club Group will provide compensation of $23.75/hour for 40 hours/week. The interns will be expected to report during the hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm (ET) Monday through Friday for the duration of the Summer Semester.
Work Environment
The internship position isremote but may include some travel to HQ and field locations if the candidate is regional.
