Staff Surveyor - Orlando, FloridaJob Description
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Staff Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Florida. The selected candidate will be instrumental in working on a variety of small and large-scale projects, including commercial, retail, and residential properties within the local region and across Florida. You will be responsible for preparing site or building information models and CAD deliverables, ensuring the highest quality of work in a collaborative team environment.
Job Responsibilities
Collect field data for preparation of surveys using advanced surveying equipment and software.
Utilize reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess project needs and assist in project approach.
Assist in recovery of survey control and monumentation, construction layout, obtaining invert and subsurface utility information, and photo documentation of the project area.
Recommend new approaches and ideas to continuously improve efficiency and services performed.
Hard Skills
Proficiency in Surveying and CAD.
Experience in topographic, boundary, utility survey, construction layout. GPS knowledge is a plus.
Strong CAD and computer skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD, Terramodel, Carlson, etc.
Mathematical ability and strong attention to detail.
Soft Skills
Ability to multitask effectively and manage time efficiently.
Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well both individually and within groups.
Work Environment
Enjoy a dynamic work environment with a balance of office work and field assignments. Be prepared to travel to project sites and/or client locations as required, and occasionally work evenings and/or weekends.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma or higher; Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or related field is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Willingness to participate in field work as necessary.
