Position Summary: JMT is seeking a Survey/CADD Technician to join their growing Surveys & SUE Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall completion of the data processing phase of specific field survey projects. U.S. Residency Required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Performs topographic plotting, terrain modeling, plat preparation, note reduction and design file generationPerform office survey activities in accordance with Minimum Standards of Practice for SurveyingOperate and supervise the use of all survey equipment including electronic data collectors, levels, electronic total station, GPS and survey vehiclesPerforms office computations necessary for the completion of task assignments including QA/QCTracks job progressCompletes data collector maintenanceCoordinates information for stakeout servicesAnalyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracyPrepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records and other survey reportsCommunicates the daily progress of the crew towards the project goals and/or accomplishments with the office staff

Required Skills Skills in coordinate geometry and trigonometry
Required Experience High school diploma or equivalentExtensive knowledge in field surveying techniques, including data collection, traverse adjustments, GPS surveys, and construction stakeoutsFamiliarity with third party software for data reduction and drafting, including Microstation & AutoCADFamiliarity with Subsurface Utility Designation and/or Test Holes

Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment 80% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required 20% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
