Supply Chain Planner
Summary of Position
Under direct supervision, the Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for ensuring fulfillment of production parts, while eliminating risks to part availability and production impact. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient material flow to support our operations in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
Supply Chain Planners achieve this by coordinating closely with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Logistics to ensure we have the correct supply to manufacture the right quantity and configurations of products to satisfy customer demand and clearly communicating potential risks and mitigation strategies to various senior leaders and stakeholders. In this role you will be the Supply Chain point of contact for the Production team and own the delivery of your commodity from purchase order initiation to stock. You will also be responsible for monitoring and managing inventories and forecasting sales and production levels for materials that are needed, including the tracking of inventory delivery performance and response time and other logistics projects.
Essential Duties
Serves as the tactical point of contact to support local plant Supply Chain needs, supporting efficient and effective execution of product planning and procurement
Analyzes and confirms material requirements and inventory on hand or in transit to optimize overall supply chain planning
Ensures on-time delivery of purchased material, at (or below) planned costs
Ensures Purchase Orders are issued/provided to qualified suppliers at correct pricing and MOQs per procurement’s strategic sourcing direction and commercial contracts
Day-to-day supplier contact, conducting follow up, scheduling material pick up and drop off, processing RMAs, and ensuring supplier is set up for success
Provides bills of materials and other information to suppliers to ensure proper execution of non-turnkey purchase orders
Holds weekly and/or bi-weekly open order review meetings with assigned suppliers to ensure alignment on expected purchase order due dates
Builds cross-functional teams and champions continuous improvement initiatives to meet or exceed cost, quality, and delivery goals
Proactively status and update team on critical supply issues
Creates visibility of Singer’s material position (with line of balance reports, material shortage reports, clear to build reports, etc.)
Ensures the accuracy of demand and part master data within MRP
Generates purchase requisitions and partners with procurement to ensure the supply base can meet demand and forecasted need
Identifies part supply constraints that may impact production schedule and create mitigation plans with commodity management/procurement/supply chain continuity teams
Executes risk management analysis, taking into consideration past performance data, demand vs. supply, and lead time stack-ups from piece part to integration
Works in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals
Facilitates technical discussions and make vs. buy decisions; launches new product introductions and conducts should-cost modeling to ensure optimal purchase order issuance and execution
Optimizes logistics, manufacturing, quality, ordering, and redistribution policies, and refurbishment and reusability planning

Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience
Associate degree
Two (2) plus yearsof related experience as Material Planner, Production Planner, Buyer, Program Manager, Operations Lead, or equivalent
Proven ability to manage demand planning and supply planning within MRP
Proficient in SQL and Fishbowl or similar MRP systems
Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or another relevant field
Proficiency in SQL and Fishbowl or similar MRP systems
Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
Prior experience in rapid growth environment
Skills/Abilities and Attributes
Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, math, and statistics
Understands material demand and accuracy of configuration
Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines and to meet deadlines
Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Must be able to work in a seated, standing, and/or walking position for extended periods of time
Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms at computer keyboard for long periods of time
Must be able to speak clearly and distinctly and hear and be heard and understood in person and by telephone
Compensation
The starting salary range for this position is between $69,680 - $87,100 per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
