As a Supplier Sustainability Specialist Intern, you will assist the Supplier Development Engineering team as well as the Supply Chain Category Management team. You will use professional communication, critical thinking, and time management skills to support active strategic sourcing projects and critical supplier sustainability strategies alongside the Hub NAM Supplier Sustainability Specialist.
You will also have the opportunity to work with other motivated interns and engage with members of other teams such as Planning & Fulfillment, Operations, ITM, and Factory teams to expand your knowledge, skills, and abilities related to Supplier Sustainability.
Work Location: Remote some travel will be required.
Your responsibilities:
Manage supplier sustainability projects with guidance from the Supplier Sustainability SpecialistImplement improvements in supplier processes and controls where sustainability is affectedReview sustainability metrics and ensure completion of sustainability actions with the supply baseManage and lead EcoVadis activities inside the supply baseAssist in supplier sustainability reviews with cross-functional teamsActively promote Hitachi Energy's clean energy practices inside the supply baseApply and implement Hitachi Energy SCM standards, tools, and processes for sustainable supplyBusiness travel: 1-3 possible trips over the summer internship period
Your background:
Rising junior or senior obtaining their bachelor's OR master's degree in an Engineering, Quality, Environmental, or Safety oriented disciplineParticipation in school or extracurricular activities and experience in leadership rolesDemonstrated project management skills for multi-discipline projectsGood communication skills both oral and writtenExcellent teamwork and collaboration skillsProficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Multilingual is a plusCurrently enrolled in an accredited university program in the USMust be currently authorized to work for Hitachi Energy in the US
