Summary/Purpose of Position
The Supplier Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and reporting, initiatives to reduce risks within our supply base. This support will include interfacing with BD corporate supplier risk and sustainability teams to share and build best practices - driving implementation of the global process and practices at the BU level. This candidate will provide support and customer service to the platforms, plants, and project teams while ensuring compliance with BD procurement policies and corporate procedures. The ideal candidate for this position will be is highly motivated to grow within the organization in the future, thrive on an environment of creativity and accountability, and be able to improve service levels to all customers.
This individual will be responsible for building, maintaining, and replenishing a pipeline of programs that reduce risk in the short, medium, and long term - vetting these programs cross-functionally and leading the decision-making process on which programs should be prioritized, funded, and resourced. Where applicable, the Supplier Risk Manager will act as the procurement project leader over affected suppliers and plant materials groups.

Essential Duties and Position Responsibilities:
Serve as procurement lead on cross-functional team supporting the implementation and of the risk and sustainability programsServe as Surgery BU representative and liaison to corporate supply risk and sustainability teamsManage communication with suppliers affected by the risk and sustainability programsCollaborate with Procurement Managers from each core team to ensure core team alignment and resourcing of any risk/sustainability program goals and objectivesCollaborate with various department representatives including sales, marketing, new product development, finance, R&D to ensure alignment and compliance under the risk programsFacilitate communication with manufacturing plants affected by the compliance program to ensure alignment between sitesManage the timing and supplier-deliverables to risk plans and compliance programsChampion corporate risk and other initiatives at the BU levelEnsure that BD Surgery processes and procedures are in alignmentOther duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree in related field, MBA or related Masters degree preferred4-6+ years experience in Strategic Sourcing, Operations, and/or Project ManagementExperience in Medical Device, Medical, or Pharmaceutical Industry, strongly preferredMust possess leadership qualities as well as ability to influence stakeholdersStrong analytical, project management, organizational, and consulting skills, with the ability to work effectively and implement solutions in a cross functional, team environmentMust demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skillsMust be proficient in all Microsoft Office ApplicationsERP, MRP system experience is a plus
