Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.
TE Systems, Training Experts, with a high Tooling / Technical / Manufacturing Process, Skill Capability.
Define and Execute Supplier Integration Program at selected Suppliers.
Perform Supplier Integration Assessments to selected suppliers.
Perform regular visits to Suppliers under the Integration Program till QDCT Target completion
Verifies CQI certifications – Perform CQI audits when applicable
Support suppliers for System Development according to IATF when applicable (i.e., ISO 9000 to IATF).
Monitors Supplier’s performance during the Supplier Development Program and escalates to Procurement if required.
Training Experts within SQ Function for IATF / Core Tools / 5S / Poka-Yoke / Problem-Solving & PDCA / QRQC / others.
Owner of Supplier Academy and Onboarding Process for Quality.
Tooling / Technical Skill Capability according the required commodity / manufacturing process.
Experts on Lean Manufacturing.
Supports Supplier Cost related Improvement Workshops (i.e., reduction of CoPQ / Scrap Reduction) in collaboration with Procurement SDE / CoE
What your background should look like:
Education:
B.S. degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or related fieldRequirements:
At least 5 years of experience within Automotive Supplier Quality Management portion.
Procurement is a plus.
Expert Knowledge on VDA 6.3., IATF16949, ISO 14000, ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing Tools, Automotive Core Tools, Poka-Yoke, and other Automotive Standards
Certified VDA 6.3 (version 2023) / IATF 16949 2nd party auditor.
Problem Solving Tools (8D / PDCA / A3 / DMAIC / SPS, etc)
Tooling / Technical Skill Capability according the required commodity / manufacturing process
6 Sigma Green Belt experience at minimum.
Demonstrated skills in a matrix environment
Technical knowledge on specific product and process as required (Injection Plastic Molding, Rubber Molding, Stamping, Plating, Die casting, Mechanical Assembly, PAB/PCBA…)
Expert level with the tools related to supplier APQP process, include but not limited to PPAP, FMEA, CP, MSA, SPC, R@R, Poka-Yoke, 5S and 8D methodology.
Ability to work across cultures and geographies effectively.
Thorough knowledge of Problem-Solving tools (5-Why, Ishikawa/Fishbone diagrams, Fault Tree Analysis, A3, SPS, etc)
Lean Manufacturing Working Experience
English fluent in speaking, listening and written.
