The role you’ll contribute:
Under direct supervision, the Health Information Management Supervisor has responsibility over the daily operations of the department to include personnel management, training and education, quality, productivity, and report management. The qualified applicant supports the department and hospital staff with HIM related, issues, questions, and provides follow-up. Assists HIM Manager/Director with forms management, HIPAA requests, regulatory readiness and other compliance activities. Supports the HIM Manager/Director with short term and long[1]term planning for staffing, and implementing new workflow procedures. Acts as a liaison between IT and EPIC end users. Attends and facilitates meetings on behalf of the HIM Manager/Director. Competently able to speak and independently handle situations in the absence of the HIM Manager/Director. The Supervisor applicant is also required to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information and adhere to the policies that govern the Health Information Management department. A successful applicant actively seeks to promote and help maintain a professional, team-oriented, service-conscious environment, which contributes to the goals of the department and reflects on the values of the system.

Performs quality and effectively communicates feedback to stakeholders
Acts as a liaison with other departments, physicians, and vendors on HIM issues
Able to manage forms within the facility, responds to HIPAA requests, regulatory readiness, and other compliance activities
Create and revise department policies and procedures
Facilitates department meetings and huddles
Coordinates RAC request and respond to payer denials timely
Organized and able to communicate well verbally and written
Meets qualitative and quantitative standards
Demonstrates proficiency of the designated computer systems and the electronic medical record
Able to perform all expert level function, duties, and task in the Health Information Management Department
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED required Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred Completion of a related healthcare degree program preferred
A minimum of 3-5 years of health information management experience in a health care setting required (acute care preferred).
1-year supervisory/leadership experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Experience with the electronic health record, health information systems and health care applications required.
Experience with regulations and accreditation standards,
Knowledge of specific state and federal regulations and standards related to the management of health information.
Knowledge in health care compliance, particularly HIPAA privacy and confidentiality laws, access and release of information.
Demonstrate advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and troubleshooting computer problems.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Knowledge and experience with process improvement training preferred
Licensure, Certification or Registration Required
