  ​This job is a member of the Base Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division.

  Responsible for the technical and quality oversight of vendors performing 3rd party maintenance services as a key member of the dynamic and fast-paced American Airlines Maintenance organization.

  What you'll do

  • Supervise vendor relationships and vendor maintenance activities

  • Ensures all maintenance performed by contract maintenance vendors is accomplished in accordance with all requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies and procedures.

  • Maintains familiarity with American Airlines contractual arrangement with contract vendor and applicable Airworthiness Agreements.

  • Ensures acceptable standards are met in all maintenance, repairs, alterations, and inspections that are performed by the contract maintenance vendors.

  • Performs on-going surveillance of work performed on airframe and in support shops, including removed components, with particular attention to critical areas (i.e., flight control rigging, CPCP tasks, etc.)

  • Ensures adherence to correct use of technical data, proper tools, approved quality personnel, and equipment calibration

  • Ensures all maintenance activities are properly documented

  • Ensures all required reports are generated and distributed to applicable departments in a timely manner

  • Evaluate and approve non routine work requests (for example, time, hours, parts, etc.) as required by vendors contract

  • Documents and reports any deficiencies to American Airline Sr. Site Manager

  • Make inputs into the AA maintenance systems as required

  • Attends daily vendor production meetings

  • Participate on Functional Checks Flights as required

  • Provide technical support to vendor personnel

  • Coordinate with flight crews and IOC/MOC for aircraft movements

  • Coordinate with other on-site AA personnel

  • Works directly with other onsite support teams (Tech/QC Reps, Engineering, Materials) and vendor personnel to ensure all maintenance program requirements are being met and build strong dependable relationships with other supporting departments both internally and at all of the facilities

  • Participate on Functional Checks Flights as required.

  • Requires extensive travel between all HMP locations

  All you'll need for success

  Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 5 years experience in the maintenance, repair and overhaul operations of Part 121 air carrier maintenance programs

  • Ability to travel internationally

  Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training

  • 5 years experience in the oversight of Part 145 maintenance programs

  • 5 years experience in a supervisor role, overseeing the repair of Part 121 air carrier maintenance programs

  • Aircraft Training, Airbus A319/320/321/330, Boeing 737/757/767/777/787, Embraer E190

  Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • A&P License

  • Strong working knowledge of the GPM

  • Understanding of Airline/Technical operations Knowledge of audit requirements

  • Knowledge of labor reporting and crew utilization

  • Excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills

  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple areas of responsibility

  • Excellent analytical, organization and planning skills

  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access to privileges to airport security identification display area (SIDA), if applicable

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of team members

  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects at the same time

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel

  • Self- motivated

  • Maintains a professional demeanor in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
