Your role
You will be responsible for directing, co-ordinating, assigning and vetting the work of employees (switcher/directors, studio technicians, acquisition technicians, digital technicians, sound engineers and studio boom operators) assigned to routine or non-routine technical duties or work within your delegated authority. You will assist and advise the technical, programming and production departments or their staff in service delivery and maintenance matters, or to help them achieve their objectives.
You will conduct evaluations followed up by reports or recommendations on operational needs regarding equipment, facilities, services and manpower, and if necessary, take on general co-ordination of teams working on remote productions.
You will also be in charge of determining training needs and, in consultation with technical supervisors, plan, draft, organize and deliver courses or seminars on all aspects of TV, radio and digital production.
Please note that this is a full-time on call position.
Requirements:
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Qualifications:
College diploma (D.C.S.) in a technical field
Seven (7) or more years’ experience performing similar or related duties
Experience working with audio
Skills:
Solid communication skills and ability to make complex technical concepts understandable to non-experts
Experience designing technical training courses
Good knowledge of frequency management in a limited environment
Good knowledge of the Windows environment and MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good knowledge of French, spoken and written
Intermediate oral proficiency, intermediate writing proficiency and intermediate reading proficiency in English (BBB)
Assets:
Knowledge of Riedel, Lawo and Ross OverDrive systems
Knowledge of IP and the SMPTE 2110 standard
Familiarity with the Dante protocol
Understanding of programming languages for audio and video systems
Other:

Excellent team work skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to keep up with the latest technology trends and applications
