Our typical summer internships last approximately 12 weeks.At CPCCo, located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. To achieve our mission, we need exceptionally talented, innovative, and driven people to help us reduce risks on the Hanford Site by removing some of the most hazardous waste streams and facilities in the Department of Energy (DOE) complex. Internships are a great way to immerse yourself in CPCCo's culture to see if we're a good fit for you and your career goals. The work will be technical in nature and related to the degree the intern is pursuing. The intern should be able to walk away from the internship with valuable learning that applies to their chosen degree.This internship is in Richland, WA; the work site may be within the city limits or outside on the Hanford site.Responsibilities during this internship include, but are not limited to, the following:* Working under supervision of Environmental Scientist, assist in revision of the RARA Management Plan.* Working with project ECO, provide documentation of walkdowns at various project sites.* Assist in compilation of document requests from regulatory agencies in support of inspections.Basic Qualifications* At least 18 years of age.* An active full-time student during the two semesters/quarters immediately preceding the assignment.* Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) during their college enrollment.* Able to work full-time (40 hours) during the internship experience. The internship typically provides up to 12-weeks of business experience during the summer break.* Actively enrolled in a full-time degree program that relates to CPCCo, with emphasis in specific disciplinesthat support the cleanup mission and aligns with the critical skills and job assignment requirements.Desired Qualifications* Familiar with Microsoft Office software applications, including Excel and WordCompensation & BenefitsHourly rate of $18.20 plus an additional $4.41 health & welfare adder in accordance with the Service Contract Act.A few benefits/perks you can anticipate, depending on the nature of your internship with CPCCo, include the following:* A casual-dress work environment, where jeans are a regular thing.* A standard 4-10's work schedule that allows for long weekends and recharging.* Recommendations for lodging and transportation will be provided upon request.
