The Major Capital Projects department is looking for a summer intern to join their team in the Stakeholder/Architecture/Urban Planning Unit.
About the Major Capital Projects (MCP) Department:
The Major Capital Projects Department has overall program/design/construction management responsibility for the World Trade Center (WTC) site, the construction of new facilities such as 2WTC, associated Streets and Infrastructure, Pump Station Rehabilitation, the Replacement of the current Port Authority Bus Terminal, and the construction of the two new Hudson River Tunnels
Responsibilities:
Assist in design, planning, and presentation of concepts and architectural 3D Model visualization for the Stakeholder Relations groupProjects will include the Port Authority Bus Terminal Replacement (PABTR), World Trade Center, and other Major Capital Projects
Qualifications:
Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program through the Fall 2024 semester (August 2024 or beyond)Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.Excellent written and oral communication skillsInterest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey regionInterest in public service and/or transportationWillingness to learn
Desired:
Architecture, Urban Planning, Project Management, or a related majorKnowledge of computer drafting and 3D visualization software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Design and planning capabilityAbility to work in a team environment
Internship Details:
The start date will be Thursday, May 30 with an orientation that will take place at 4 World Trade Center in Lower ManhattanThe internship will last 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 23This is a full-time internship (generally 5 days per week at 7.25 hours of work per day plus a 45-minute break)The format is expected to be fully in-person at One Liberty Plaza in Lower ManhattanThe hourly salary range is $17.20 to $28.85 (the hourly salary is determined by internship type and school year)These details are subject to change
