The Human Resources department is looking for a Talent Strategies & Engagement intern to join their team!
About the Talent Strategies & Engagement Division:
Talent Strategies & Engagement helps employees grow and develop at the agency through design and implementation of various learning and development programs. Talent Management touches key areas of Human Resources such as: learning and development; performance management; succession planning; engagement; and employee motivation, recognition, and retention. We focus on building employee capabilities to help them strive and grow within the agency.
Responsibilities:
Assist in managing our online learning library that will include assisting with the a newly rolled out online learning platform, uploading new content to our learning management system, creating marketing materials, communications and specialized content catalogs to help drive employee usage of the platformAssist in managing performance management platform and help with process improvement of the overall performance management programAssist with career development activities such as career development platform, career conversations training and updating employee career journey mapsAssist in coordination of the Business Manager Skills Mastery Academy that will include working with the program participants, vendor management, gathering feedback through surveys to measure effectiveness of the program and recommending program enhancements as necessaryAssist in redesigning internal intranet page for Talent Management programsSupport virtual learning in a producer role ranging from individual contributor skill development to leadership workshopsResearch best practices and emerging trends to identify opportunities for growth and support of training and development programs and technologiesOwn your own project that will impact our team and present your findings at the conclusion of the internshipShadow Talent Management team members to understand their work and how it integrates across HR strategies to drive business resultsManage other special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program through the Fall 2024 semester (August 2024 or beyond)Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.Excellent written and oral communication skillsInterest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey regionInterest in public service and/or transportationWillingness to learn
Desired:
Major in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related disciplineLearnings from completed coursework pertaining to Talent Management within the field of Human Resources
Internship Details:
The start date will be Thursday, May 30 with an orientation that will take place at 4 World Trade Center in Lower ManhattanThe internship will last 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 23This is a full-time internship (generally 5 days per week at 7.25 hours of work per day plus a 45-minute break)The format is expected to be enter hybrid, partially virtual and partially in-person at 4 World Trade Center in Lower ManhattanThe hourly salary range is $17.20 to $28.85 (the hourly salary is determined by internship type and school year)These details are subject to change
