The Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals department is looking for a Data Analytics intern to join their E-ZPass Tolling Roadside team!
About the Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals Department:
The Tunnels, Bridges, and Terminals department (TB&T) is the division of Port Authority that operates and maintains the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels, the Bayonne and Goethals Bridges, the Outerbridge Crossing, and the Midtown Bus Terminal and the George Washington Bridge Bus Station.
Responsibilities:
Support the continued maintenance of the toll system, which collects approximately $1.8 Billion annuallyReview toll collection data and proceduresIdentify processes for resolving errors in handling violations and in system performance, in addition to recommending solutions for mitigating them in the futureReport on performance monitoring and analyzing data for possible system issues that will require escalation for resolutionReview image capture and quality and system performanceMonitor component performanceIdentify components in need of replacement and verify spare inventory utilizationCollaborate on efforts to increase revenues via Toll Technology by performing various system audits to identify issues and generating reports.
Qualifications:
Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program through the Fall 2024 semester (August 2024 or beyond)Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.Excellent written and oral communication skillsInterest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey regionInterest in public service and/or transportationWillingness to learn
Desired:
Experience in summarizing results of analysesStrong experience in Microsoft ExcelStrong research, analytical and organization skillsAbility to gather data, perform process analysis, and provide recommendationsStrong time-management skills and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated productivity in a team environmentKnowledge of toll systems and/or Backoffice operations
Internship Details:
The start date will be Thursday, May 30 with an orientation that will take place at 4 World Trade Center in Lower ManhattanThe internship will last 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 23This is a full-time internship (generally 5 days per week at 7.25 hours of work per day plus a 45-minute break)The format is expected to be hybrid, partially virtual and partially in-person at 4 World Trade Center in Lower ManhattanThe hourly salary range is $17.20 to $28.85 (the hourly salary is determined by internship type and school year)These details are subject to change
