Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their Team Submarine contract supporting the acquisition of submarines. The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.
In this role, you will:
Act as primary Cybersecurity contractor support working closely with a Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) in a team environment.
Assist the NAVSEA In-Service Strategic Submarines Program Office (PMS 396) with project management of US and UK SSBN strategic weapons support systems (SWSS) modernization efforts, coordinating efforts across internal and external stakeholders as required. Apply strong project management principles, methods, and tools in developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing engineering projects and resources, to include technical and programmatic performance.
Utilize Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts to develop strategies to manage obsolescence challenges associated with US and UK SSBN non-nuclear systems and components.
Utilize knowledge/information management expertise to provide task management of incoming technical queries from the UK to discern category (logistical or technical) and stakeholder ownership, distributing actions to various organizations/stakeholders and tracking timely response.
Review and develop analytical and technical input needed to evaluate documentation and development of briefs to ensure accurate, timely and essential information is proved to decision makers.
Support the preparation, execution, minutes capturing, and tracking of follow-on actions for Program Office meetings and events.
Support the preparation, coordination, and distribution of Program Office reports and correspondence.
Support the development and tracking of metrics.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A current or active DoD Secret security clearance.
A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
Eight (8) or more years’ experience in IT/cybersecurity and RMF.
To be a cybersecurity subject matter expert.
Navy/NAVSEA/Submarine experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Apps (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience leading a project and interfacing with an end item customer.
Knowledge of Program Management, including the acquisition process, and Navy program execution.
Have the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Additional desired experience and skills:
International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) certification (e.g., CISSP, CCSP).
Experience/familiarity with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), SSBN strategic weapons support systems (SWSS) and ship/submarine modernization processes.
At least two years’ experience with Navy Acquisition and Submarine Programs.
Active-duty experience in the Submarine service.
Recent experience in Team Submarine.
