are looking for student research assistant for the summer of 2022.
Duties for the position include:
Learn and perform general lab maintenance and specific lab technics these include but not limited to tissue collection, sample preparation, PCR, RT-PCR, ELISA, and western blotting. The student will have opportunity to learn specific musculoskeletal related lab technics, such as muscle functional tests, skeletal muscle morphometric image analysis, micro-CT scanning and analysis etc.
This position will be involved in two essential projects of our lab, which needs those technics for data analysis. Those projects are to help us understand how muscle and bone interact (cross-talk) during aging and muscular dystrophy. Hands on training will be provided by experienced researchers in the lab and also by PI.
Required Qualifications include:
Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, organize priorities, and work independently to meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work well within a cohesive team.Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public.Ability to learn and perform lab procedures as well as follow oral and written instructions accurately.Desired Qualifications include:
Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required.This position is only open to undergraduate and graduate students registered at an accredited institution.
Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.
