Job Description
The Stress Engineer will be responsible for understanding damage done to the structure of the aircraft. Analyzing data and putting together a repair concept in order to fix the damage. Will be 90% behind a computer running the numbers for analysis to implement repair. After creating the concept, they will be sending back to structural engineer.
· Reviewing and performing analyses using hand calculations using OEM and DoD methods and industry standards.
· Initiate repairs and develop reports that demonstrate designs and meet all design requirements.
· Uses software such as Nastran/Patran and Femap for analysis
· Manage project components including establishing task priorities, scheduling, and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.
· Creating the stress report, this will be a lot of documenting, then goes back to structural engineer
Skills and Requirements
· Bachelors degree - Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Materials, or Structural Engineering
· Journeyman 3-10 years' experience in airframe analysis.
o Repair experience
o Fleet support
o Manufacturing support
· Background in Aviation/Aerospace
· Proficient in Excel Knowledge of Crack Growth Analysis
Knowledge of Boeing 707 platform (commercial book 1-4)
