Become a Strategy and Corporate Development Senior Advisor at Edison International (EIX) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll work across all areas of our team supporting actionable strategies and opportunities for EIX and its companies, focusing on advancing corporate/business development efforts, growth & innovation initiatives, strategic planning activities and ESG/sustainability priorities.
This position plays a key role in advancing strategic objectives with responsibility for conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, including (but not limited to) monitoring/research of industry trends in the power & utilities sector; tracking of clean infrastructure markets such as solar, wind and energy storage; exploration of new ideas and business models; scanning the ecosystem of early-stage cleantech companies; assessment of specific acquisition or investment opportunities; and development of business strategies and scenarios.
More broadly, you will help shape Edison's overall strategy, leveraging analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and creativity skills to help the team. In this role, you will utilize influencing skills by presenting for senior management, including members of the C-suite and leadership at EIX, SCE and Edison Energy.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
Market and industry analysis:
Monitor power & utilities industry trends, including M&A activity, competitive landscape, regulatory developments, ESG / shareholder trends, etc. Track key clean energy infrastructure, services and technology markets for potential new growth for EIX, assessing strategic alignment of different at-scale opportunities Analyze key sectors (e.g., electric mobility, grid of the future, digital solutions, etc.) to get insights on innovation trends, changing customer segments, new business models, disruptive technologies and ecosystem of early-stage companies
Corporate strategy development:
Help manage the annual strategic planning process for the company Provide insights on industry trends, themes, scenarios, and hypotheses to business leaders of EIX and its subsidiaries Support project management of new strategic initiatives Support the company's sustainability/ESG strategy
Evaluation and execution of new opportunities:
Feed and evaluate pipeline of new business ideas or startups to source venture investment opportunities for EIX Apply critical thinking, problem-solving skills and data-driven approaches to link the value proposition of opportunities with Edison's strategy Conduct due diligence and quantitative analysis (e.g., market models, valuation, forecasts, project finance, etc.) as needed to support assessment of opportunities for EIX leadership consideration Support execution of any transactions
Strategic projects and internal consulting:
Conduct independent, in-depth analysis of complex business problems, and present findings and recommendations to senior leaders Manage strategic projects, organizing cross-functional teams, developing project scope, analyzing key issues, performing financial analysis, and identifying potential solutions and recommendations Develop implementation plans to execute strategies and transition projects into business for execution, as appropriate
Qualifications
Qualifications you need ...
Five or more years of combined experience in strategy/management consulting, venture capital, investment banking or corporate strategy/innovation/development roles (e.g., developing and implementing business strategies such as launching new products or implementing large scale companywide initiatives, business plan evaluation, startup incubators/accelerators, venture investing, mergers & acquisitions)
Other details that will set you up for success ...
Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, or a related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education and experience Being comfortable in an unstructured work environment and able to cut through uncertainty to proactively move ideas forward. Experience communicating complex analyses and information to senior management. Experience, knowledge and/or a strong curiosity in energy, e-mobility, and clean technologies. Strong team orientation, ability to collaborate with teams in order to accomplish individual goals

When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
