What You'll Do
As a Marketing Strategist on our Direct Marketing Team, you’ll be responsible for assisting with the development of innovative data-based direct marketing programs that effectively engage and activate specific targets segments in our consumer business. You’ll provide research-based customer points of view and marketing campaigns for the business. You will design and drive the execution of specific direct marketing initiatives with a focus on direct mail, email and digital engagement. You will measure the effectiveness of this marketing through to both sales and retention driven by each campaign. You will partner with our call center and digital team to ensure you are leveraging the right media, right message and right creative to drive consumers to engage in their channel of choice. Assist with influencing leaders and decision makers at all levels to gain strategic commitment for sustainable direct marketing experiences, resulting in growth opportunities for Principal.
What You’ll Do
Assist with developing innovative engagement strategies leveraging direct mail, email, and targeted digital media to drive positive customer demand for our product/offerings.
Help drive the execution of marketing campaigns, creative initiatives, and product development to help Principal grow revenue among our target consumer audiences.
Partner with and influence stakeholders to deliver on business objectives
Cultivate a deep understanding and application of modeling, data analytics and consumer insights to drive effective response.
Track, analyze and communicate results. Use results analysis to improve future outcomes.

Who You Are
Bachelor's degree or 8+ years equivalent work experience
4 years of retirement industry product marketing experience – direct to consumer
Intermediate level knowledge of Omni channel marketing strategies
Ability to analyze and translate data analytics into actionable marketing strategies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience helping to building strategic marketing programs that deliver on business goals
Solid strategic and critical thinking skills
Ability to influence to bring stakeholders together to deliver a consistent message
Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$77400 - $147600 / year

Work Environments
This role offers remote, in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) in Des Moines, IA. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors .
