If so, we have the opportunity for you.As the Strategic Resource and Grants Officer, you will be responsible for developing and aligning organizational financial resources to strategic priorities. You will maintain the grants pipeline and reporting calendar, develop collateral related to large capital and mission-based programs, and conduct research to further advance the museum's collections, exhibitions, and programs. You will pursue grants, individual gifts, and other funding opportunities from government agencies, corporations, foundations, and individuals to meet the museum's annual goals and strategic initiatives.
You will be responsible for resource development including administering and securing grants; researching, planning, and prospecting resource opportunities related to large capital and mission-based programming; funding proposal development, writing, and submission; resource tracking; budget management; and preparation and submission of funder reporting documents. This position will be reporting to the Strategic Implementation Director and will work closely with executive leadership to produce research and proposal documents related to strategic funding priorities.
Other requirements of this position include:
5-7 years' experience in fund development or program management.Exceptional grant writing and storytelling experience is requiredAbility to gather information accurately and efficiently through interviews and other means and quickly grasp the concept of a project or program for which funding is sought.Exceptional organizational skills with a high attention to detail, and an ability to manage several projects simultaneously, under strict deadlines and often under pressure.Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs, prospect research tools, and fundraising databases (Altru, etc.)Strong commitment and ability to maintain confidentiality.A self-starter who is creative and possesses an entrepreneurial spiritKnowledge of American Sign Language; multilingual a plusThe Dayton Art Institute is one of the region's premier fine arts museums.
