Zurich North America is seeking a Strategic Operations Leader for the Crop Business unit (RCIS). This leadership role will be responsible for the management of a strategic operational portfolio with managerial accountability for people, process and technology in support of Zurich (RCIS) business objectives. This position reports to the Head of Operations, Crop (RCIS). We ideally would like to have this candidate based in our Anoka, Winston Salem, Sioux Falls or Schaumburg offices. For the right candidate we are open to virtual as well, with business travel expected.
The Strategic Operations Leader will lead a diverse team that is responsible for managing a portfolio aimed at optimizing operational processes and improving our digital landscape. Success in this strategic leadership role requires an ability to lead at scale, service and process oriented mindset, effective communication with emphasis on the following:
Leadership: Focus on upskilling and reskilling of our project consultants to develop a balance of right skills to effectively manage our digital and operations landscape.
Process: Process reengineering, change management and tangible measurement of process improvement benefits (results -oriented execution).
Technology: Develop and establish an innovative culture to implement the current technology roadmap to create a distinctive digital experience
Responsibilities Include:
Lead and influence business leaders on Lean and digital transformation initiatives, engaging and collaborating from inception to operational state.
Lead the implementation of operational and change projects for a function or business area to deliver defined objectives with allocated resources and in timescales typically of less than one year.
Work with business unit Senior Leadership in the identification of business improvement opportunities and acts as a catalyst to accelerate and drive the execution of solutions.
Oversight of cross-functional projects (e.g. with local Information Technology and project delivery teams) to ensure Information Technology infrastructure is in line with operating model and business plans.
Ensure specific metrics and measures incorporated into solutions reflect the business strategy, track progress, capture the impact of changes and identify further opportunities for improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Claims, Consulting, Risk Engineering or Underwriting areaOR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Claims, Consulting, Risk Engineering or Underwriting areaOR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Claims, Consulting, Risk Engineering or Underwriting areaAND
Experience in Organizational Effectiveness or Change Management
Experience in the application of existing and/or change management methodologies and tools
Project management experience
4 or more years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Project leadership and consulting experience
In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, with subject matter expertise in at least one functional insurance discipline; Underwriting, Claims, or Risk Engineering
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.The starting salary range for this position is $108,100.00 - $177,100.00.
