Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Law, Policy, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience working with electric utilities, regulators, clean energy advocates, energy policy makers, or other energy industry stakeholders.
Experience working with institutions of government (e.g., state regulatory dockets and regulatory intervention).
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in regulatory and legislative arenas, especially as part of stakeholder coalitions.
Experience working on clean energy policy and regulatory subject matter, including electric utilities, rate design and analysis, and related topics.
Knowledge of key stakeholders, issues, and market trends within US-West and LATAM Regions.
Ability to solve multi-stakeholder issues and grow in an environment with ambiguity in executive presence.
Excellent written and verbal communication, and project management skills.

The Energy Regulatory and Policy team helps Google achieve its goals of low-cost, clean, and reliable energy supply to its global fleet of data centers. Fundamental to this global computing network is a reliable, scalable, and sustainable power supply.
As a Strategic Negotiator, you will be responsible for Google’s global energy portfolio and work at the forefront of energy and infrastructure issues of the day. You will lead energy regulatory initiatives to ensure cost effective power suppliers maintain a path for growth of our data centers and energy-related products, and meet our carbon-free energy goals. You will help drive regional energy-related strategy development and execution, leading strategic initiatives and projects. You will work cross-functionally in support of Google's energy portfolio and advocate before energy regulators and industry stakeholders.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$203,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Lead strategic evaluations of regulatory and policy environments in the US-West and LATAM regions, electricity industry trends, electric pricing/rates, stakeholder interests, and electricity institutional structures to assess risks and opportunities for Google’s data center electricity supply portfolio.
Develop and lead efforts to further market solutions to Google’s electricity supply needs, including design of regulatory and market engagement strategies as well as implementation tactics.
Work cross-functionally with others on Google’s Global Infrastructure, Product, Public Policy and other teams to develop policy and market positions and communicate to key constituencies.
Lead energy-related advocacy work with trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups, and other allies to advance Google’s strategic energy interests and priorities.
Support energy supply negotiations, working closely with site and energy Strategic Negotiators.
