Minimum qualifications:
Experience with SQL and other databases, scripting, or business intelligence tools.
Experience with project management in a technology or media company.
Experience with management consulting or corporate strategy.
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and leaderships.
Preferred qualifications: Understanding of consumption-based business models.
Knowledge of technical aspects of cloud computing infrastructure and enterprise IT deployments.
Ability to digest large amounts of imperfect data and draw business implications from the data.

As a Strategic Initiatives Manager, you will play a critical role in developing the strategy for how Google Cloud operates and makes investment decisions. You will help to define our overall go-to-market strategy, propose where we make investments, contribute to strategic initiatives, analyze the financial viability of different solutions and verticals, and study the market to ensure we stay ahead of macroeconomic trends and our competitors.

Responsibilities
Study the macroeconomic and competitive trends in the Cloud market and analyze market data to understand specific new initiatives we can undertake to accelerate our growth. Analyze our current performance and footprint to identify areas of excellence and opportunities for improvement in collaboration with our Business Performance team.
Participate in strategic initiatives (e.g., industry winning plans, go-to-market design, operating model design), contributing problem-solving insights and gathering new information in form of external research, interviews, surveys, etc. Feed insights into our core decision and planning processes, making them actionable. Synthesize findings into actionable, executive-ready documents and presentations.
