SMX is hiring a Strategic Growth Seller who will be focused on expanding SMX's footprint of customers that represent non-linear or "multiplier effect" growth opportunities for both SMX and AWS. Specifically, these customers represent opportunities to grow our business in partnership with a they-grow, we-grow model. This will combine aspects of both direct, channel and partner-driven sales. Examples include selling the SMX Elevate Platform to help ISVs achieve compliance (FedRAMP, DoD, etc.) and grow their federal practice, as well as driving growth through channel partnerships. This position is remote supporting a Herndon, VA based team.
Essential Duties and Responsibility
The Strategic Growth Seller will take on broader responsibilities than an Account Executive or Account Manager.
The Strategic Growth seller will need to identify and size the target market and develop a strategy for pursuing targets within that market.
They will work with marketing and channel partners to develop and execute marketing campaigns to drive top-of-the-funnel growth.
They will look for compelling partnership opportunities to accelerate growth and then work with the SMX partner team to nourish those relationships and ensure bilateral deal flow and mutual benefit.
They will establish sales targets every quarter.
Take ownership of the sales cycle from prospecting to closing. They should feel comfortable managing and closing run-rate deals while sourcing, developing, and closing sizeable complex selling cycles with multiple stakeholders.
Ultimately, they must drive deal closure for strategic growth deals and continually demonstrate progress toward reaching their quota.
Required Skills and Experience:
3+ years well-rounded experience in a sales or quota-carrying account management role
3+ years of experience in technology sales, ideally in a consultative selling role supporting the adoption of professional or managed services
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellent communication skills
Established relationships with influential clients, stakeholders, and influencers within one of the major cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a demonstrated ability to develop and foster new relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
Base knowledge of cloud computing and familiarity with the major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)#LI-Remote
