Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Civil/Stormwater Engineer within the Renewable Energy sector for a top Engineering client with office located throughout the Western US. This individual will be working in a challenging and variable environment that will include detail-oriented independent work and client interactions. The successful candidate will have the aptitude to succeed in supporting multiple projects while supporting business development efforts in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Responsibilities:
*Serve as a fully capable professional in the field with minimal direction.
*Prepare site plans and other technical documents in support of municipal site plan and zoning applications.
*Appear as Professional Engineer of Record.
*Prepare or oversee the preparation of erosion and sediment control plans and other technical documents in support of soil conservation district and other agency applications.
*Prepare or oversee the preparation of construction documents, engineering reports, and basic data and scientific documents regarding stormwater, water quality, watershed management and bet management practices.
*Create or oversee creation of designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final work drawings.
*Perform and/or direct hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling, and geospatial evaluations.
*Perform and/or direct watershed and water quality assessments and conventional aspects of watershed planning and BMP prioritization support.
*Apply engineering principles and industry best practices to develop effective solutions.
*Prepare written and graphic reports and make presentations.
*Conduct site inspections to examine field conditions, drainage and erosion control needs, as built conditions, etc.
*Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geological data to plan and design projects.
*Work closely with the project team for a variety of water resources and site development projects.
*Maintain knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and environmental concerns.
*Mentor and coach junior level staff to develop their skills in stormwater engineering.
Skills and Requirements
Min 8+ years in Civil Stormwater Engineering
Renewable energy experience- preferably solar/BESS*
BS or MS in engineering
Senior level understanding of surface water quality, stormwater quality and stormwater management in construction and post construction settings, hydrology, fluvial processes and applicable rules and regulations within the Western US.
Ideal candidate can dually function as preparer or reviewer.
Demonstrated expertise and experience with Flo2D, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, and other similar software.
Opportunity for this role to be supervisory; with 2-4 direct reports.
