Job Description The Opportunity:
We are looking for storage engineers with automation skills and knowledge of the SRE methodology. You will be an integral part of a global infrastructure team, providing follow the sun support to Visa’s systems.
This Storage automation engineer position is within the Storage Operations Team and falls under Global Systems Support. This position will support, certify, and document storage and backup infrastructure, as well as serve as a Level 2 escalation point for existing infrastructure. This position expected to interact with Systems, Database, Engineering, Asset Management, Product Development, Operations, Audit and Risk, and various groups within Technology. This role must have strong communication and analytical skills.
The Work itself:
• Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of Storage and SAN infrastructure based on business requirements and adhering to tight operations, security, and procedural models
• Responsible for automation of infrastructure tasks to reduce repetitive or time-consuming processes, utilizing SRE principles and practices and an infrastructure as code methodology
• Responsible for complex provisioning, advanced maintenance, data replication, disaster recovery, data migration and documentation for our Open Systems Storage and Backup environments
• Demonstrate a high level of technical expertise to support complex Storage & Backup devices, including SAN, NAS and Backup solutions across all tiers, under minimal supervision
• Be scheduled On-Call to support the infrastructure and our systems.
• Willingness to work on shift days (Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00AM to 6:00PM local time)
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Essential Functions

• Experience working in SAN/Storage/Backup Administration
• Experience working in large, complex, enterprise datacenter environments
• Experience using scripting languages (Golang or Python), with configuration management tools (Ansible/Tableau), service registry and discovery tools, infrastructure orchestration tools (Ansible/Tableau)
