Steve & Kate's Summer Camp is an 8 to 10-week program, running from Juneto August. Training for this position will begin in April when you'll betrained by our Team Leads in all things camp. You'll slowly take on moreresponsibility until you own all daily camp operations.
In a nutshell, this role helps run all facets of a self-directed camp forchildren ages 4 to 12.Our management team will prepare you for camp and then hand you the reinsapproximately 1-2 weeks before the summer begins.While running camp,you'll build relationships with hundreds of parents and children, helpingthem overcome fears, discover passions, and generally find their groove atSteve & Kate's. You'll help train, lead, and inspire a team, andoversee the day-to-day operations of your site to keep things runningsmoothly, safely, and up to code. What you will be doing:Share responsibility for all stages of the employee life cycle for seasonalteams of up to 30, including attraction, recruitment, onboarding,development, retention, and separationOn-site manager responsible for all facets of a day camp that runs 8-10weeks, with an average of 150 campers per dayHandle crisis, emergency, behavioral, and medical response as neededManage customer contact for your programs, including responding to email andphone inquiries in a timely fashion, providing exceptional customerservice, and handling sensitive and escalated matters for hundreds ofprospective and attending camp familiesWith support, manage compliance processes and ensure implementation ofcompany, city, and state-required policies for camps and/or childcarefacilities as applicable to the localityManage a six-figure budget for personnel, food, and programmingOversee all logistics and inventory management functions for items needed torun camp programsManage relationship with the host school where camp runs; also responsiblefor overseeing janitorial arrangements, security, and site planning toensure sanitary, safe, and smooth operations
What we hope you will bring to this role:
At least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED required.
Must meet one of the following:
A 4 year college degree with a major such as recreation, outdooreducation, education with a specialty in art, elementary or earlychildhood education, or a subject in the human service field.
Two years of college education in a field from option one WITH 6 months (or910 hours) of full-time or part-time experience working with kids(experience must be had as an adult (18+).
Three ye rs (5,460 hours) experience working with kids AND6 or 9 hours completed of college course work (in the fields listen inoption 1) OR40 hours of training in coursework applicable to school-aged kids.
Position Details:
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Pre-Season Hours: Approximately 80 hours total training hours, April - May(hours will vary)
Camp Dates: 6/10/24 - 8/16/24 (in addition, two weekends will berequired for move-in and out of camp)
Camp Hours: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Pre-season Hourly Wage: $30/hr
Summer Salary: $1,211.54 per week
This position starts as hourly and moves to salaried.
