Position Summary
The NIH Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation ( FIRST ) Coordinating and Evaluation Center ( CES ) and the National Research Mentoring Network ( NRMN ) Strategic Empowerment Tailored for Health Equity ( SETH ) to Advance the research Careers of ESIs, are seeking a qualified staff-level Statistician/Data analyst to assist in data structuring, quality control, cleaning and preparing for analysis and provide data summaries/graphics and univariate statistical analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor degree in a relevant data computational discipline(s), math/stat with at least 3 years experience in applications of 1) data structuring using Excel or another database platform like REDcap/ Qualtrics and, 2) statistical methods including data summaries/graphics and univariate statistical
Preferred Qualifications
MS degree or higher in biostatistics, statistics data science or any other relevant discipline with concentration in data science, computing and data manipulations/visualization and analyses from an accredited college or university

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty
Timely application of data structuring techniques, Quality Control, cleaning and setting up for analyses
Competently performing statistical data summaries, tabulation, and graphical representation of results
Conducting adequate exploratory and final univariate analysis for continuous and categorical data using statistical computational software
Works with the MSM Bioinformatics Unit ( BIU ) to provide, support and develop effective data management configurations and tools using platforms like RedCap
Assists supervisor and project(s) leaders in developing appropriate study protocols and Statistical Analyses Plans ( SAP ) for future extramural research funding applications, manuscripts, and presentation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in data summaries/graphics/data visualization and univariate analysis utilizing statistical packages such as Statistical Analysis System ( SAS ), R, Python, SUDAAN , STATA , SPSS , etc.
Skill in communication both orally and in writing
Ability to work collegially with others and take instructions from Senior Study Biostatistician as part of a collaborative team
Team-oriented individual
Deadline orientation facilitated by the ability to organize and manage own work and time to complete work assignments in adequate and timely manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism and respect to others’ work and contributions
Experience in assisting with grant proposals preparation and manuscript development

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
