Job Description
Overview of role:
We are looking for an accomplished sales/business development professional to join our dynamic, diverse SSGA Middle East & Africa (MEA) team. Based in our Dubai office, you will be a key member of the State Street Global Advisors MEA Client Coverage Group contributing to our prospecting, new revenue generation and client retention efforts.
You will be part of an ambitious and entrepreneurial business development team covering a range of client segments with a strong focus on Official Institutions, pension funds and financial institutions. Product coverage will span the full range of SSGA capabilities including passive equities, global fixed income, cash, ETF's, quantitative and fundamental equities, multi-asset and OCIO solutions.
You will need to collaborate with colleagues in investments, research, and marketing. The role requires energy, flexibility, curiosity and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
We want you to develop a deep understanding of the SSGA franchise in the Middle East and Africa MEA region to advance our pipeline and actively contribute to the region's annual gross and net new revenue targets.
This role reports to the SSGA MEA Head of Sales.
What we will ask you to do:
Assume ownership and accountability for growing and converting an existing sales pipeline Work with the Head of Sales on the annual sales strategy and commit to its successful executionTake a leading role in retaining existing business by delivering high quality relationship management and anticipating our clients' evolving needsFocus your Business Development efforts on Distribution relationships with regional institutions including (private) banks, family offices, wealth management firms, regional asset managers and distribution platformsFocus your product efforts on mutual funds, SPDR ETF's and Sub-Advised MandatesContribute to new product ideas and build robust business cases for consideration by Product DevelopmentSuccessfully deliver on individual KPI's and contribute to the region's Annualized Gross and Net New Revenue targetsTake the lead on dedicated RFP's, product information gathering and client-centric research origination/disseminationHarness the expertise of our internal specialists (e.g. portfolio management, portfolio strategy, research, Cash, SPDR, etc.) in order to deliver a consultative sale to clientsMonitor key product performance and liaise with portfolio strategists to ensure proactive engagement with our client baseBuild strong, positive relationships with key internal stakeholdersMaintain the highest possible fiduciary standards and ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements
Qualifications

Academic background in finance, economics, business or a related fieldCFA/CAIA charter holder/ candidate or equivalentPrior experience in ETF sales, capital markets or strategyMinimum 3 years experience in investment management client facing roles with top tier international firmDemonstrable network of clients/prospects in the regionWilling to travel extensively across the MEA region and internationally on an occasional basisFluency in EnglishExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA good problem solver and trouble-shooter, with the ability to identify and analyze issues with the creativity and energy to solve them
