  Who we are looking for.

  An Application Manager who will lead and manage a global team to deliver technology solutions for the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) business at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) - investment, liquidity, counterparty, operational, and model risk business domain.

  A strong leader with skills that champion close collaboration across business and technology teams, along with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a multi-platform environment. Ability to organize both qualitative and quantitative information in a meaningful way to develop and implement plans and mitigate project risks.

  Understand the relationships between technology, data, operations, and business functions along with knowledge in the financial markets, specifically within investment or asset management.

  Thought leadership, technology strategy planning and execution, and managing global IT teams to build, enhance, and implement innovative and scalable solutions.

  This role is part of SSGA IT Application Technology Services who is responsible for providing high-quality business application and technology services that SSGA's Investment Management business runs on. Enterprise Risk Management is a critical business function providing independent risk analysis and monitoring across all asset classes as a second line of defense to our investment management business.

  What you will be responsible for

  Business stakeholder alignment and management - collaborate with cross functional business leaders to understand, prioritize, plan, and deliver technology solutions to support the business.Lead a global application development team and work with technology partners to implement complex projects on time and within budget (Run, Change and Transform).Develop an effective global IT workforce strategy for the application team, in partnership with other technology leaders and vendor partners.Be accountable for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions ensuring best practices and standards are followed.Help define and execute key transformation programs for the broader organization, in collaboration with other technology, data, and operations leaders.Empower and mentor the Enterprise Risk IT team to innovate and develop by establishing clear goals, coaching, delegating, and providing constructive feedback.Act as an advocate for change management, inspire innovation and creativity in technology solution.Provide domain expertise to the team as needed.

Strong business stakeholder alignment.Solid problem-solving and analytical skills along with an understanding organizational process, business and data domains, and data governance.Experience with vended risk analytics engines (e.g., Bloomberg's PORTPlus, MSCI BarraOne, Risk Metrics, Axioma, FactSet products).Understanding of AWS Cloud, Big Data solutions as well traditional relational structures (Oracle / MSSQL) and conceptualizing architecture and supporting framework.Familiar with BI and data visualization tools for reporting data effectively.

  Education & Preferred Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in a software application manager role or equivalent leadership and program management roleFinancial Services background, including investment or asset management

  Salary Range:

  $140,000 - $222,500 Annual

  The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
