Job Description Primary Function of Position:
As a member of the Digital Software and Data platform team, the Staff Technical Product Manager will work closely with functional leaders across digital and other stakeholders in adjacent business units, to understand the requirements, define the requirements, and prioritize a roadmap to deliver features to that generate value by supporting an ecosystem of connected products. The role is strategically defined to lead the interface between digital data platform development teams and key stakeholders across business units. Success will be measured by the positive impact to our key initiatives have across business units.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead the definition and implementation of the data platform and analytics strategy across our suite of digital healthcare solutions.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including robotic platform engineering teams across Intuitive, data science, and regulatory experts, to define and refine the digital data platform roadmap, aligning it with business goals and regulatory requirements.Understand and translate business priorities and regulatory requirements into detailed technical specifications. Ensure that data collection, transfer, storage, and delivery processes are robust, scalable, and compliant with applicable standards.Own the roadmap to create and maintain an efficient and effective data platform architecture that enables the product teams to collect, store, analyze, model and report data for their software solutions.Drive the development and operationalization of data backend to serve AI/ML solutions teams, business intelligence and data visualizations that support the business objectives of the downstream product teams.Develop a clear vision and strategy for the healthcare data platform, aligning it with the company's overall goals and objectives.Understand development cycles and plan incremental delivery of features contributing to the larger data platform visions.Collaborate with program management to ensure high-value projects are properly scoped, resourced, documented, and communicated to minimize risk and deliver on-time/on-budget.Work closely with technical teams to decompose product goals into actionable steps for execution.Identify potential risks and challenges related to medical data management and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.Monitor business unit development priorities and keep deliverables aligned.Define and track metrics and key performance metrics and present them through applicable reporting mechanisms.Solicit stakeholder feedback and track utilization to validate project success.Facilitate new project prioritization with analysis of current and past projects.Continuously assess and improve project processes and tools. Qualifications Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
Minimum four-year degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or a technical related field. MBA/MS or above is a plus.Minimum 8 years relevant work experience with software development, product development, technical product management or product ownershipMinimum 5 years proven experience managing data products from concept to scale.A proven track record with development of software products, software infrastructure, software tools, data platforms, or a related areaExperience with project phases and product lifecycles (e.g., ideation, concept, design, development, V&V, and manufacturing transfer)Strong product management, decision making, negotiating, and prioritization skills.Comfortable conducting requirements gathering interviews, understanding and translating findings into technical requirements deliverable by software and data engineering teamsExperience initiating and managing partnerships with modern edge and cloud technology providers to create and maintain diverse data lakes and warehouses.Familiar with data analytics tools to track data collection and delivery process.knowledge of AI/ML and experience managing products serving with AI/ML-powered technology products.Strong detail, organizational, and presentation skillsExcellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable plans.Ability to synthesize data, set actionable goals, and drive execution.Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize duties.Ability to work effectively in cross-functional project teams.Experience making tradeoffs (features, customer needs, timing, and cost)Experience with scheduling, budgeting, cost management, and risk tracking toolsExperience with JIRA, MS Project, SmartSheet, ConfluenceFamiliarity with medical regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11) and experience in ensuring compliance.Medical device, robotics, or mechatronics experience is a plus. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
