The Engagement Group at Mural helps create a personalized space for collaboration through content discovery and management, template management, and guiding the customer journey. The Customer Journey team focuses on driving new monthly active members, activating new members and driving product engagement to retain members.
YOUR MISSION As a Staff Software Engineer on the Customer Journey team, you will help guide the engineering team’s technical approach to deliver the front end pages and backend APIs required to create delightful and useful experiences for our members. You will help grow our business by guiding a team of engineers to build and ship great code, focusing primarily on the journey new users embark on when they join Mural and help them grow.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Provide technical leadership to your engineering team, including technical direction setting, coaching, and architectural mentorship Be an advocate for best in class technologies, methods, and approaches to solving problems and achieving product goals Be a core part of our technical design process and able to document solutions Fully understand user requirements and pain points to help solve them Identify, study, and improve performance bottlenecks Generate experiments, test them with production users, analyze, repeat Build a culture of shipping great products Build a culture of data driven experiences Be accountable for and take ownership of your product Work with engineers within your team and group to build scalable solutions and influence the technical roadmap WHAT YOU'LL BRING 3+ years experience in a technical leadership position Experience designing systems that are used in large scale production environments Experience mentoring and growing junior to senior software engineers as their technical leader Excellent technical skills and relevant experience with React and Typescript development Experience with frontend testing practices at scale Experience building APIs via REST and JSON (bonus: with NodeJS) Experience with web application development frameworks and tools like React, Express, Babel, Webpack, etc. Experience with a variety of data stores and designing suitable data models Experience leading highly complex programming tasks and provide code reviews for your team Experience providing analysis of complex problems and recommend solutions Computer science degree or relevant professional experience Excellent command of English, both written and verbal For roles based in New York City, California, Colorado, and Washington, the base salary for this role ranges from $181,200 - $226,500 + equity + benefits. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation.
