About Staff Software Engineer, Android, Bluetooth, Better Together

  Minimum qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.

  5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

  3 years of experience working with Android application or framework development.

  Experience in Bluetooth or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) domain areas.

  Experience with software development in Java and C++.

  Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  5 years of experience in Bluetooth stack development.

  3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, leading project teams and setting technical direction.

  Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

  Experience designing/building or working with other Bluetooth stack architectures.

  Experience designing APIs and working on frameworks.

  Our team owns the Core Bluetooth technology for Android and we are responsible for helping unlock experiences within the Android ecosystem. We work on the leading edge Bluetooth technologies, integration into android system and help scale that across all of Android.

  In this role, you will enable devices across the ecosystem to compound each other's value, starting with the Android devices. You will deliver exceptional data-driven device connectivity and shape the future for our platforms and partners. You will focus on providing seamless connectivity using Bluetooth technology and deliver key experiences for the users.

  The US base salary range for this full-time position is $185,000-$283,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

  Responsibilities

  Lead new features and technologies within the Bluetooth domain along with proposing long-term technical strategy.

  Design, implement and maintain Android Bluetooth connectivity stack for both first-party and third-party devices.

  Collaborate with both internal, external and partner teams to refine and define the Bluetooth stack and scaling it to the industry.

  Help build the next generation of APIs and libraries for first-party and third-partydevelopers.

  Partner and collaborate with related Engineering teams, product management, and program management to ensure the development of high-quality solutions in a timely manner.
