Job Description
Position Overview
This position will be on the construction team responsible for theengineering and commissioning of supervisory control & data acquisition(SCADA) systems and associated communications infrastructure related tocutting-edge wind, solar and battery storage energy projects. Theposition will be responsible for coordinating with multiple stakeholdersto develop conceptual designs. This position will be responsible formanaging the procurement, final detailed designs, commissioning, andacceptance testing. The SCADA, OT, and IT systems of these projects mayinclude RTUs, controllers, energy management systems, network switches,firewalls, annunciators, HMIs and all associated connectivity on wind,solar and battery storage energy projects.
Responsibilities
Document specifications and configuration of SCADA, power plantcontroller, RTU, & IT equipmentTrack design schedules, update all stakeholders, and ensure thatcritical dates are met on time.Organize and transfer all as-built documentation to operations teamincluding schematics, bills of materials, and programming settingsCoordinate the procurement and installation of necessary telecomservices.Align resources and lead discussions with plant controllermanufacturers, transmission operators, generator owners andoperators to configure systems as needed.Coordinate networking equipment configuration including specifyingphysical interfaces and protocols, assigning IP addresses, andadministration of firewall rules.Monitor construction progress remotely and via on-site inspections.Support resolution of any field issues. Attend in-person meetingswith stakeholders. Provide on-site programming and field supportduring commissioning.Lead efforts with project team to develop operational plans toenergize, commission, and turnover projects while maintaining NERCcompliance.Coordinate with independent engineers and project partners toeffectively navigate the technical due diligence process.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry technology through varioustraining sessions and conferencesRequired Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or relateddegree.Knowledge of SCADA systems acquired through zero to three years ofrelevant work experience.Knowledge of both the physical and software aspects of networkingequipment that connect BESS assetsKnowledge and programming of SCADA, HMI, PLC platformsExperience and familiarity with various industrial communicationprotocols such as OPC, DNP3, Modbus and EGD.Prior installation, commissioning and site construction experiencein renewable power generationExperience working on SEL RTAC is preferredExperience working with Inductive Automation Ignition softwareWorking knowledge of NERC compliance for low impact cyber systemsAbility to coordinate and manage multiple concurrent projects.Considerable knowledge in computer and server operation.Strong project management skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsUp to 25% travelBenefits
