Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Data Insight Analyst - Lead C2BMC Models Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
Applicant will be expected to provide technical expertise in the area of MDS modeling and simulation and/or analysis and lead a team of more junior analysts to support.
Position also includes interacting with, supporting, making presentations to, and coordinating with members of other C2BMC teams, C2BMC leadership, MDA customers, and technical SMEs. Tight deadlines will often need to be met.
Essential Functions: Plan and execute performance analyses on C2BMC and its interactions with current and planned MDS assetsDocument analysis results in reports and briefings; occasionally present analysis resultsDevelop requirements for large, complex system models/simulations and or test/analysis toolsExecute, test and evaluate MDS level, large scale models/simulationsVV&A the C2BMC modelDevelop, test, and evaluate threat scenariosUsing large scale simulations, perform System Level Test event predictive analysis, post-test analysis, and/or post-flight reconstruction analysisProvide data to support decisions regarding system/element representations and modeling parameters used in large scale simulations. If applicable, please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume.An active Secret clearance is required.14 Years with Bachelor's degree in a related field; 18 years' experience in lieu of a degree.Applicant must have a solid engineering background that covers a variety of disciplines which support both conceptual and detailed system level assessments (data engineering and analysis, automated analysis pipeline management).Applicants must have an understanding and hands-on usage of various statistical analysis techniques (time series analysis, multivariate statistics, Monte Carlo methods, probabilistic modelling) with experience in IMM Filters, sensor fusion, object radar tracking techniques.This is a hands-on position; applicant must have end to end data pipeline management experience; data engineering, data science, statistical analysis, data visualization, data analytics pipeline architecture, technical writing and analytics presentation authoring.Technical specialty areas may include, but are not limited to the following: radar design and performance; endo/exo-atmospheric interceptor design and performance; target discrimination; ballistic missile threat characterization, performance, or modeling; simulation of large, complex systems; requirements development for large scale system simulations; requirements or performance analysis using models and simulations; or M&S Verification, Validation and Accreditation.Must have the ability to design and develop custom data analytics tools to process high volumes of test data and automated presentation generation tools to enable rapid creation of slide decks for presentation to senior government customers.Will be required to present results to senior government customer audience.A working knowledge of Unix/Linux is required. Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of the C2 Federated Model, OSM, MDST, BCM run configuration, data analysis, MDA threat engagement approach, understanding of Tactical and ATOMS message types, knowledge of C2BMC run log formats, OTA V&V, large data set analysis.Understanding of MatLab, and scripting languages such as Perl and Python are desired.Applicant should have knowledge of run automation technologies like Jenkins and GIT. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
