How will you make an impact?
We seek an Accounting professional with strong knowledge of U.S. G.A.A.P. and advanced accounting and technical skills to join our Group accounting team as Accountant III, responsible for timely and accurate reporting within our Laboratory Products Division. The position will be based at our flagship manufacturing, distribution and service business located in Asheville, NC.
A Day in the Life:
Prepare for and actively participate in internal and external auditsCompleteness and accuracy of monthly account reconciliations, using Blackline softwareBalance Sheet flux analysis, including commentary on material variancesMonthly Scorecard for trade receivables and aging of intercompany accountsMaintenance of local Approval Authority Matrix (AAM)Sunshine Act complianceSOX Key Spreadsheet testingRevenue cut-off testingMaintenance and review of the FOB Revenue deferral modelAssist 3rd party vendor with sales tax filings and sales tax auditsCoordination of interoffice mailAssist Accounts Payable with processing and compliance questionsMonth-end financial data loads using Baan & CognosThis role will report to the Sr. Finance Manager and will work closely with the Asheville site Finance team and the North America Regional Shared Service Center located in Costa Rica.
Keys to Success:
Education
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance or education in process
Experience
Must have a minimum of 3 years of Accounting experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Prior public accounting experience preferredPrior experience with revenue recognition/deferred revenue accounting desirableAbility to work independently; self-motivated; high bias for actionHigh-level Excel skills incl. use of Pivot tables, PowerBI a plusPossess team-building skills and the proven ability to work with a diverse group of peopleAbility to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationshipsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdhere to OHS policies and procedures and ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment
