Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a permanent opportunity with a reputable company. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will lend your skills to developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation Requirements - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
High attention to detail
Efficient in ERP systems
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Financial reporting experience preferred
Deep understanding of Financial Forecast
Comprehensive knowledge of financial auditing
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
