Description
Robert Half is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the long-term temporary role of Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Based in the West Los Angeles, California region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.
Major responsibilities
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Partake in annual closing processes
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Requirements - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel
Expertise in journal entries
Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations
Proven knowledge of QuickBooks
Debits experience preferred
Experience with credit
General ledger experience
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Skilled with ERP systems
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
